How we help you navigate the system.
Welcome to NeuroAware CIC. We are a new initiative in County Durham, dedicated to supporting neurodiverse minds and the people who care for them.
Our Mission
We provide information, advocacy and support surrounding neurodiversity, Special Educational Needs and EHCP processes. This gives you the knowledge and confidence to stand up for yourself or your child, by refusing to accept less than what the law requires.
What We Believe
You are not the problem. The SEND system is overwhelming by design but we’re here to make it manageable. Every family deserves clear, compassionate guidance that prioritises the child, not the bureaucracy.
What we offer:
Support for every step of your journey.
- 👋 Support: Resources and guidance for neurodiverse individuals.
- 📢 Advocacy: Dedicated support for parents and carers of SEND children.
- 📜 EHCPs: Assistance with applications, reviews, and tribunal representation.
- 💬 Meetings: SEN meeting preparation and school communication support.
- 📝 Forms: Practical assistance with DLA form completion.
- 🏫 Training: Community-based sessions to improve awareness and inclusion.
- ☕ Community: Online support groups, wellbeing sessions, and coffee mornings.
How we work:
NeuroAware supports and advocates for neurodivergent individuals, families, and carers across County Durham. We provide a safe, understanding space to talk, alongside practical guidance, signposting, and support with everyday challenges such as accessing services, benefits, and employment support.
Through this work, we empower individuals, families, and communities with the knowledge and confidence to navigate both daily life and the SEND system.
